    Police say the man shot by El Paso Police officers Monday morning has died. He has been identified as 25-year-old Louis Jose Burrus. Burrus was in critical condition after he was shot just before 5:00 a.m. Monday on the 2900 block of Trawood Drive, near George Dieter Drive.

    El Paso police are investigating an officer-involved shooting.  It happened on Trawood Drive near George Dieter Drive Monday morning.  Darrel Petry, spokesman for the El Paso Police Department said they received several calls about shots fired in a neighborhood nearby.   He said they pursued a man who they believed was involved in the incident.

According to Blue H.E.L.P., a nonprofit run by active and retired police officers, at least 159 officers took their own lives in 2018, the same number of suicides tracked in 2017 and 19 more than in 2016.

    A suspect was taken to University Medical Center after an officer-involved shooting in South-Central El Paso Wednesday night, police said. Authorities said two officers fired at a man after a family disturbance was reported just after 8 p.m. on the 500 block of Huerta Street. Police said the man charged at the officers with a knife.

    EPPD: Suspect accused of shooting police officer in South Central El Paso now in custody

    El Paso Police have arrested a suspect who they believe shot a police officer near Seville and Sambrano in South Central El Paso earlier Tuesday, Dec. 11.  Police apprehended the suspect, who they described as a Hispanic male, at around 8 p.m. at a residence located on the 100 block of North Clark.  Crisis management team made contact with the suspect but he refused to come out.

As KTSM previously reported, the incident happened October 10 outside of the Pebble Hills police station in East El Paso.     Thanksgiving weekend was a deadly one for law enforcement with four officers killed in the line of duty across four different states. Officer Leann Simpson of the Philadelphia Police Department in Mississippi was killed Saturday in a car collision. Simpson was en route to assist with a traffic stop when her patrol car hit a light pole and rolled.

    Police Officer Among 4 Dead In ‘Horrific' Chicago Hospital Shooting

    A Chicago police officer and two hospital workers were killed Monday by a gunman who carried out a grisly assault at a city hospital. Police identified the fallen officer as Samuel Jimenez, a young cop with less than two years with the department.
