    El Paso officer injured after trying to prevent thief from fleeing outside of Walmart

    An El Paso police officer was injured after he was trying to prevent a thief from fleeing outside a Walmart in northeast El Paso. The incident happened Saturday around 9:25 a.m. at the Walmart located at 5632 Dyer. An 11-year-old veteran officer was working extra duty security at Walmart when a man walked out of the store without paying for some items. The items were valued at over $300.

    El Paso Police Department receives more than 700 body-worn cameras

    El Paso police shoot pit bull after 2 dogs attack, bite 2 people in far East Side

    A pair of pit bulls bit at least two people before an El Paso police officer shot and mortally wounded one of the dogs Sunday afternoon in a far East Side neighborhood, police said. The dog that was shot was not expected to survive. The shooting is under investigation, as is standard procedure with all officer-involved shootings, according to a police media statement.
